CIVIL AIRCRAFT PROFILES

de Havilland D.H.88 Comet
'Grosvenor House' was the winner of the 1934 MacRobertson Race from England to Australia. The profile is of it during the race, not as it was subsequently restored.

ADAC MD 900 Explorer
'Christoph 77' was one of two operated by Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club, the German AAA/CAA/AA until spares became difficult to source. D-HITH was based in Mainz.

Cessna 150M 'N737PA'
After being assigned the registration used by the Pan Am Boeing 747 that collided with another 747 in Tenrife in the deadliest air accident in history, the owner chose a commemorative scheme.

Cessna Crane
'CF-CSR' was an ex-BCATP war-surplus Cessna used by the Winnipeg flying club in Canada

Douglas Dolphin NC26
The last surviving example as seen during WW2 in service with the CAA (the FAA's precursor). Once Bill Boeing's 'Rover', it is now in Coast Guard markings at Pensacola.

Cessna 172M Skyhawk
'C-GPHV' was used by the Rockcliffe Flying Club in Ottawa for flight instruction.

Cessna T-50
'NC34' was one of several civilian model T-50s bought by the CAA before the war, new from the factory.

Short S.23 Empire
'Canopus G-ADHL' delivered airmail and passengers across the British Empire as seen late in WW2. The stripes were to avoid friendly-fire incidents.

Schweizer SGS-233A
Training and familiarization glider used by the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. I had many flights in these as a teenager, although not in Winnipeg.

MD 900 Explorer
'G-10' was the first of five MD 900s operated by the Belgian Federal Police.
