FONTS

These typefaces are from metal stencils commonly used from the second half of the 1800s until the 1930s in many industries worldwide, from South American railroads to French aviation and military equipment, and they came in different sizes. My interest came from it being used on French WW1 aircraft. The brass plates had a notch 2/3 of the way down their sides to allow easy alignment. These didn't match previous fonts as the needs of the machinists forced simplifications. Also noticeable are a number of inconsistencies in letter shape and proportion. Although less commonly used, there was also a lower case version, however I have been unable to locate a full set of the lowercase letters to recreate those (yet).
